There is a lot to learn from Sweden and this field visit will be an immense opportunity to hear from policy makers, learn from experts and interact with researchers.

The Program


Learn from Experts

Fellows will get opportunities to interact with and learn from international experts in various areas of sustainability

First-hand Exposure

Participants will gain first hand exposure through field visits to Industries, Governmental Projects and Research groups in Sweden.

Exchange of Ideas

The visit will be an opportunity for two-way exchange of ideas where best practices from one's home country can be shared with other international participants


Program Details

The iS-FIVE program is envisioned to give participants an opportunity to learn by visiting University Research groups working on sustainability, interacting with Government officials working on implementing a specific project, industries and farms visit to witness sustainable practices implementation on the ground. The program will be a blend of field visits, brainstorming sessions and discussions. This program will also pave the way for a. Research collaboration b. Learnings that can be implemented in other countries especially India

Eligibility Criteria

~ Should have a valid passport from home country
~ Proficiency in Spoken and Written English is preferable
~ Age Group: 20-45

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the motivation of the applicant, ability to take forward the learnings and collaborate in the future and strong academic/professional background in alignment with the goals of the program.

Additional Info

It takes about 20 days to process the visa for Sweden. Hence it is advisable that the participants apply as soon as possible.

Program Fee

The program fee is Rs. 1,80,000 for those joining from India.

Scholarships of upto Rs. 40,000 are available for selected applicants

For International participants the fee is EUR 1,400

It covers the following:
- International airfare (not for International participants)
- Domestic travel for field visits in Sweden
- Food and accommodation in Sweden for 5 days and 5 nights
- Course materials
Note: International participants will have to book their flight tickets to and from Sweden. It is NOT included in the program fee.
The payment details will be shared with selected participants.

Payment Process

Upon selection you will be asked to be pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 15,000.
After you apply and receive your visa, you may pay the remaining amount within the due date mentioned in your selection email.

FAQs

What is the eligibility for applying for this program?
The applicant should:
- Have a valid passport from the home country
- Be between 20 and 45 years of age

Can people residing outside India apply?
Yes. The program is open to both Indian and International applicants. Indians residing outside India can also apply for the program.

What is the program fee and what does it cover?

What are the costs NOT covered in the program fee?
The VISA fee, travel costs to the VISA office and the travel costs to the point of departure from India (New Delhi) will have to be borne by the participants and is NOT covered in the program fee.

Is there a scholarship?
Yes. We will be able to provide a scholarship of upto 35,000-50,000 INR (and equivalent) for a few selected participants.
The selection will be based on the Statement of Purpose, profile and a telephonic interview.

Is the fee refundable?
Upon selection, the participant will pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 15,000 .
After you apply and receive your visa, you may pay the remaining amount within the due date mentioned in your selection email.

How do I apply for a VISA?
For selected applicants, we will provide an invitation letter from the host institution in Sweden and help with the VISA procedures. The details will be share after the selection process.

How will we be travelling from India? The delegates from India will be travelling together from India (New Delhi) to Sweden and arriving together back to India.
More details about the time of departure from India will be shared with selected participants.

Note
All participants must be with the delegation throughout the program. During the 5 days of the program, you will not be allowed to leave the group.

Prajna is an Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate with distinction from Amrita University. She co-leads several initiatives on education, rural development and sustainability. She actively connects with educational institutions to create awareness about the SDGs and indigenous solutions.

Garima Upreti

Program Coordinator - Sustainability Education

Garima has a Masters in Environmental Sciences from Kurukshetra University. She is passionate about educating the next generation of learners on Sustainability and its best practices and inspiring them to integrate it in their lives.

Smt. Smrithi Rekha Adinarayanan



   Smt. Smrithi Rekha Adinarayanan is the co-founder of Anaadi Foundation. Mrs. Smrithi was a faculty at Amrita University teaching Computer Science and Cultural & Value Education for a decade. She was also an Educational and Cognitive Science researcher at Amrita University. She has an MS from State University of New York and was a visiting faculty to University of L’Aquila, Italy. With strong inclination to Dharmic thought and Yogic sciences, Mrs. Smrithi blends insights from Indic sciences, education and ecology in programs offered by Anaadi Foundation. She is a Fellow of European SPES (Spirituality in Economics and Society) Institute and a core group member of MHRD panel designing National level Value Education program for schools in the country.

The Global Schools Program is an initiative led by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) in support of UNESCO’s Global Action Program on Education for Sustainable Development (GAP-ESD).

The Anaadi Sustainability Awareness for the Young is one of the few selected SDGs education programs worldwide to have been selected as a part of the prestigious Global Schools Program and is happyt to contribute to :

“Empowering schools and teachers globally to educate children about the SDGs”

The vision of the program is to generate interest about sustainable development in schools in an effort to educate and engage students with the SDGs and to encourage them to prioritize the goals in their lifestyles, behaviors, education and professional careers as these goals provide framework for a better world that children could live in the future. The program aims to do this by transforming learning environments globally and making schools the hubs of education and leadership on SDGs, ultimately becoming vehicles for empowering and mobilizing students and young people to help implement the SDGs in their communities.

SDSN Youth educates young people about the Sustainable Development Goals and provides opportunities for them to pioneer innovative solutions to address the world's biggest challenges.
