Program Content

Vedanta

Vedanta is the essence of Indian thought and philosophy. Exposure to vedanta illumines the mind and offers a path to direct experience. The retreat program will have vedanta as the foundational aspect where participants will be exposed to insights from the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. Detailed explanations on the slokas from the Bhagavad Gita together with their philosophical meanings will be offered.

Mahabharata

We will be looking at it from a contemporary perspective so that we develop in our Antah Karana (inner instrument) the necessary qualities to be able to happily succeed. The detailed story-line of the Mahabharata will be covered on a daily basis. The messages in the stories and their significance to our daily lives will be highlighted during these sessions. The Mahabharata sessions will be highly interactive giving lot of scope for questions and answers. Discussions will revolve around the social setting during the Mahabharata times, the values that emerge from the stories and the path to success by adhering to Dharma.

Yoga and Dhyana

Yoga is often thought to be a complex set of body-twisting practices that requires lot of time. Many people are unable to take up yogic practices due to unavailability of time or lack of sustained motivation or health and age related reasons. The Yoga routine integrated into Anaadi's spiritual retreat program includes a set of simple asanas, pranayama practices and rejuvenating meditation mainly focused on helping the participants feel relaxed, calm and energized.

Self-Reflection

The spiritual retreat program at Rishikesh will offer participants the possibility to reflect upon Vedanta and story of the Mahabharata, the philosophical teachings that emerge from it, its practical relevance in one's life and the transformation that occurs by listening (Shravana and Manana).
